Consumer-Based Accountability
States have a variety of tools to use in bringing accountability to their schools. They can pass public-school-choice and charter laws that allow parents to exercise accountability directly. The first map below shows the number of states that have public school choice. The second map shows which states have passed laws that allow charter schools.
